Devi Mahatmyam
Goddess Shakthi was born as the daughter of the hill with the sole purpose of reuniting with Shiva. She was also Mahakaali, the 7th child of Devaki who threatens Kamsa that her brother Krishna is getting ready for destroying him. Indeed, she is Mahishasura Mardhini who destroyed the demon Mahishasura. It is this Shakthi, who represents triumph of good over evil, without whom Shiva remains incomplete.
